How Much Fat Can You Burn in 16 days?
3 fat burning babes. 2 weeks. 1 goal.
Aloha, Fat Burning Babes worldwide! I hope this finds you wrapping up a week of doing awesome things for yourself. And if not, use the weekend to start now. Sometimes the weekends are when we throw all our hard work away because of social situations, etc.
Think about conscious choice making when confronted with something or someone that you know in your gut isn't for your greatest good. It doesn't have to mean avoiding social situations (although sometimes they're toxic and we need to cut the cord). It means taking pause, doing a gut check and asking yourself, "Does this help or hurt in the long run?"Our futures, and what we want them to look like, aren't some far off, esoteric, intangible thing. We build our futures on choices made in the present.

| Why wait to burn fat? |
Don't say, "I want to look/feel/do better one day." Say to yourself, "I will do what it takes to look/feel/do better now." Then, be the goddess warrior you are and vow nothing will stand in your way. Not judgment from toxic people around you who probably have nothing to show for themselves anyway. Not what's happened before that didn't turn out the way you want --- that's not real. The past only exists in your head. Get control of your thoughts. Not vice versa. You can do it. I know because you're here reading this.
There's something in you -- the authentic you that you may have buried deep down -- she's reading this because she's ready to realize her highest self. Mediocrity does not look good on you. That's why you're here. So do it. Whatever it is, decide that today is the last day of settling for all the shit that's weighing you down like a pile of cinder blocks chained to your ankles. Choose and act. No one else is going to do this for you. No one is coming to the rescue but you. You will find, however, that once you right the ship, the support of the universe falls in line to serve you. I promise.
Ok, below are last week's journal updates from the three remaining badass babes. Today is day 45 of the Kick Fat in the Ass Challenge. I can't believe it. We have two weeks left and in these final two weeks we are turning up the after burners.
The past six weeks we've built a solid foundation of shifting the body to using fat as fuel, strength, balance, learning, and
pragmatic adaptation.
By pragmatic adaptation I mean that a lot of times people get hung up on numbers and forcing set criteria onto themselves. I know I've said this before, but we can't place static external criteria on an ever-changing living entity and then hope it works... and sticks forever.
I am constantly tweaking macros, movement, etc (and teaching them to tweak) on a daily and weekly basis. I know a lot of you out there get hung up on 30g net carbs. And that's a decent general number for most relatively healthy women on an average day. But that's not going to always be the number if you've done heavy resistance training, if you're in a fat loss stall, if you're trying to gain more muscle, if you are in a different phase of your menstrual cycle, if you're in menopause, if you have an athletic event on the horizon, if you slept like crap.... so much comes into play here. So, when you're applying the protocol to yourself, learn to listen to your body and experiment until you find what works for you. Giving up after a month is giving up on yourself.
Because Kim, Susan and RN have come so far and progressed so well towards their goals, they're now at a phase that we're making major adjustments the next two weeks. Their bodies have reached a point where they're primed to burn a ton of fat in a safe way that spares muscle.
Their schedule next week is going to be:
- Modified carb re-feed on Sunday.
- Mon - Weds: No Fail Fat Shock Cycle™
- Thurs - Sat: No Fail Fat Burning for Women™ intermittent fasting protocol
- varied resistance training, movement and body activations throughout depending on the day
I can't wait to see what the fat loss numbers look like in two weeks!
5.16.15 UPDATE:
I (Michelle) decided I'm going to join these next two weeks of the fat burning babes bringing their A-game to the finish line of the challenge. I always respected the coaches that ran the sprints with me rather than just blowing a whistle from the sideline.
I'm happy with where my bodyfat is because I have it at a healthy, year-round sustainable number. My goal this year has been adding more muscle instead of burning fat. But hey, let's see what happens. Carrying a really low body fat percentage isn't ideal (or healthy) for me.
The No Fail Fat Shock Cycle™ is interesting because it kinda takes the protocol and turns it inside out. We always stay one-step ahead of our metabolisms here. An example of this being the antithesis of our "regular" days is I'm going to have them focusing on the scale during the Cycle. Why? Because I want to show them it works. And two, we've done a lot of work with their individual numbers so that we know what we're losing during the Cycle is a little water first, then galvanizing stored body fat for burning. There is no muscle wasting here. I've had some of the strongest lifts of my life using the No Fail Fat Shock Cycle.
The Cycle is not a panacea or quick fix. The team has built a solid foundation for six weeks to be able to do this. I guess what I'm saying is: don't try this at home your first few gung-ho days into the protocol.... it will make you feel
very, very, very not well. It is not a healthy or smart thing to do without preparing your body for it. The Ninjettes are beyond physically and mentally prepared.
All of them (and me) begin the No Fail Fat Shock Cycle™ on Monday, May 18. We'll report our daily losses and gains here for those three days. Monday morning will be our post carb re-feed starting weights so we'll be up a few pounds from water retention. Keep checking back to see what happens!
And, now I give you some of the most amazing, strong women I've ever had the pleasure to work with...
In Their Own Words:
Susan
I’ve
had a bit of a roller coaster ride these past 10 days. I began feeling fatigued and I couldn’t quite figure it out. I
do think that it is part of another adjustment process where I learn what's working for me.
I’m trying to be introspective and listen to my feelings of hunger
and changes in mood. This “paying attention” has been all consuming at
times.
I finally
realized that obsessing over what may be causing me to feel less than
optimal only made it worse. Remembering to trust the process and
listen to Michelle worked magically.
It
seems that gut health needs to be my priority. We're adjusting to focus on really healing my gut and I’m enjoying this
learning process. I know there is a ton of literature out there
regarding this area and I feel comfortable continuing my own research
once I’m done with this challenge. I know my time being able to access
Michelle’s knowledge is limited but I think she will have given us the
tools to make educated decisions by the time this challenge is complete.

Wow!! Yikes!! My two months with
Michelle is almost up. I am taking a moment to think about what's going to happen and
that makes me a little nervous. Then I stop myself from going there
and think about everything I have accomplished and everything I have
learned in the past six weeks.
The first thing that comes to
mind is how valuable this experience has been for me. I have learned so
much about myself and about this process.
I have seen that at times my mind is just evil and wants to take me
down. But I now know I have power against it because my goals are important and I'm making myself important to me.
I have learned to be present in this moment and not
worry about the next meal or the next week. I use positive self-talk a lot now
because I have to remind myself not to jump ahead. The only moment that
matters is NOW.
I have learned to trust in the process and to
trust in myself. Everything takes time. I have put my body through
years and years of abuse and now I am healing. Through this healing, my body is changing. I am physically stronger. I am mentally stronger.
This is an every day practice for me, but I am doing it. I
know that I can take this challenge into the future from here on out. Thank you,
Michelle, for getting me here.

I'm feeling great about my progress and my body changes so far. I honestly feel like there's no stopping me at this point.
I accept the journey may take a bit longer than I originally hoped but I
have faith in the process and
completely trust it.
I'm starting to see definition in my body that I
didn't have before. I feel stronger and more energized each day.
I'm loving that I feel good all the time (it is
really hard to describe other than I just feel good). It still amazes
me that I felt like crap for so long before and just lived that way not
realizing it.
The last week has been unusually hectic for me because
my kids' school year is winding down. We seem to have a lot of things
going on each day/night. However, I feel like this program has become
second nature to me and the key is to know what I'm going to eat first
thing in the AM for the day.
Even if I have to run to the store I plan
out my day before it gets away from me and hunger sets in. I made
that mistake once last week and it was terrible!! I felt so sick to my
stomach and just ill. Even when I ate I had to gag it down. So that
will not happen again- I will plan properly and make sure to eat at the
16 hour point. I still have not been tempted to cheat- even when
birthday cake, chocolate brownies, and homemade popcorn was in front of
me!!
This self control is huge and each week that goes on I know
that I have the power to control what I eat. I am less likely to ever
eat those foods again. I am a bit nervous about what happens after the
challenge. It has been a huge support having Michelle available to
answer my questions and lay out a blue print for success and the other
girls to bounce ideas off of. However, I know I have all the tools I
need to get to my goals and know I will get there.
P.S.
I had to share a non scale victory today.
I was able to fit in to a pair of jeans that I haven't worn in over two
years. I saved them to remind myself that they fit me after my son was
born. I haven't tried them on in months- stopped trying before because
it was depressing. Anyway, I have gone from a size 12 to a size 8 since I
started this journey.
