Hey everybody! We've been super busy and stoked the past week working to prep our four foxy fat-burnin' babes selected for the Kick Fat in the Ass Spring 2015 Challenge.
These four amazing women were chosen from almost a hundred applicants to spend the next two months (April 1, 2015 - May 31, 2015) being coached daily on a No Fail Fat Burning for Women protocol designed exclusively for their individual goals and health.
It's my hope you can:
- relate to their stories below
- join the challenge on your own or with friends/family; and
- follow their journeys to optimal health here on the blog!
At the end of the two months:
We'll post before and after pictures but until then, some of our fat burnin' babes chose to keep their names/faces private for personal reasons -- which we completely agree with and respect. Regardless, I applaud their bravery, honesty, drive, and kick ass champion attitudes for taking control of their health, trying something new, and hopefully inspiring all of you to take the baton of your health and run with it!Behind The Scenes
The Fat Burnin' Babes team has a private online forum where we post, discuss, learn, and support each other throughout the day. We post workout pics/reports, food for the day, recipes, and education materials. We also have a weekly conference call every Thursday.- Today is their first day of carb depletion. Two of them (Kim K. and Connie M.) are doing ten day carb depletions
- Susan G. is doing a five day depletion.
- R.N. is doing a 12 day depletion
Be sure to check back here weekly beginning next Friday, April 10, 2015.
Each woman will provide weekly insight into her journey and its trials and triumphs. Please feel free to ask them questions and show your support in the comments below!PLEASE MEET THE MEMBERS OF THE KICK FAT IN THE ASS SPRING 2015 CHALLENGE!

I
am a stay at home Mom who lives in Fort Wayne, IN. I have two girls
ages eight and six, and a son age four.
I turn 40 at the end of May and REALLY want to
be in great shape, proud of my body, and start my 40’s off on a great
foot health wise! My 30’s were great, I was married and had three kids but I'm ready to start to take back some “me” time and invest in myself.
In the past I dropped weight fairly easily by picking up my exercise and cutting back on junk food. But this time was different. It was sticking to my body in areas that never held weight before. Nothing seemed to work for me and the scale kept going up!
I was beyond frustrated with myself because I felt I was doing the right things and still gaining weight. I didn’t want to try another shake program, diet fad, or weight loss pill but also didn’t want to accept this as the new and forever me.
I just didn’t know where to turn or if it was even possible to do.
In January 2015, I stumbled upon an article on Bulletproof
coffee that intrigued me. I began to research the Bulletproof diet and read everything I could about the program. I then stumbled upon and read
No Fail Fat Burning For Women
and I knew this was for me!
Every single one of her ' before' symptoms were the same as mine, so much so that I felt I could have written those chapters of the book. I started the program in early March and do not feel one bit deprived food wise and my sleep and mood are SO much better.
I have no doubt this change is here to stay. I now believe I can have the body I want!
I am down 8.6 lbs and over 21.2 inches since March 2, 2015. That seems insane to me considering how easy this plan is to follow. It allows me more time with my kids and less time working out and meal planning. I am seeing and feeling the results. I am so excited to have this opportunity to get even greater results in the Spring Fat Loss Challenge team. I can’t wait to see how my body transforms! It is THE best 40th birthday present I can give myself and my family.

"R.N."
I have struggled with my weight as far back as I can remember and now that I've turned 50 I am determined to change how I handle this.
I am going to change this story.
By the time I was in my 20's I was close to 300 pounds. I took off 100 and put it back and did it again. Since losing 120 pounds about 20 years ago, I am happy to say I have kept that off but still I yo-yo up and down 20 pounds. I still have 20 to lose.
I am an all or nothing person when it comes to food. I can't have "just a taste." Once I start there is no stopping me. I do not want food to continue to rule my life. I have always tried losing weight by restricting what I ate. All I did was think about food and what I would eat next. I have always lived the cycle of dieting Monday through Thursday and then binging most of weekend. This really makes it hard to make progress.
At the beginning of 2015 I took a group boot camp. Three times a week for six weeks. By the 3rd week I had not lost any weight. I talked to the trainer and he suggested I try bulletproof coffee. At that point I had never heard of it and thought the whole "more fat" thing was crazy. I read everything I could about it. Then when I found the No Fail Fat Burning For Women
protocol I started seeing results.
I am ready for this challenge and to learn how I can make this protocol continue to work for me moving forward.
CONNIE M.
I'm an almost 41 year old mom of two boys (eight and six). I am married and we live in San Francisco.I'm a sales executive who travels regularly for work; three trips in April alone and a vacation... so I need to plan food carefully.
I really want to be promoted at work this year; while also coaching three kids baseball teams; serving on the board of my kids' public charter school; and being a college women's lacrosse official (spring only). I'm also an amateur gardener.
Reading No Fail Fat Burning For Women
My vices are alcohol and chocolate... particularly during pms week; though I've cut the drinking a LOT since reading the book. I haven't cut it out completely.
Finally, I'd really like to do a proper, unassisted pull-up.

As with any other dietary restrictions over prolonged periods of time (mostly low carb with calorie restrictions), my weight would inch back up. It never went too far out of my reach, but far enough to make me feel awful.
Fast forward approximately 15 years: I am currently a 39 year old woman with achy joints and skin issues (hormone related).
I read the Bulletproof Diet book in January 2015. I quickly saw results that also quickly faded. After searching sites dedicated to women, I found No Fail Fat Burning for Women. It was extremely helpful in realizing that women’s needs are unique. What works for the big guy in the office is NOT going to work for me.
I believed I needed to take a closer look at what I was doing. Now I think I need the support of this challenge and group to modify my diet and exercise to meet my personal needs. I want to be happy and healthy and I don't want to quit!
I have body image issues that put me in the gutter when I'm feeling bad about myself and questioning what I am doing. I would like that to stop for good. I want to increase energy and happiness while decreasing anxiety, body fat, and body image problems.
Have thoughts, comments, questions for me or any of the Kick Fat in the Ass Challenge participants? Comment below.
Hi! Can you tell us what the idea is behind different carb depletion timeframes for the four women? Is it about different goals, body composition, or what?

ReplyDeleteHi, Trava-
DeleteThanks for your comment. That's a great question. We're going to go into it a little more in today's blogpost. Check back in a little bit. I'll also post the link here when it's published.
Yours in strength, resilience and sticks of butter!
Michelle
Here you go. More to come this weekend.
